So I was browsing around the internet, wondering if I should take up polymer clay again. (the answer is no, not now), when I remembered how I used to love making pillow beads, and I got to wondering if I could replicate them with seed beads and SuperDuos.
I soon figured out how to get the flat side, and had to work on the seed beads that would allow the two sides to join.
Several attempts and un-pickings later, this is the result.
The tutorial for the earrings is available now. I am currently working on a necklace, with a bigger pillow bead in the middle. That was very tricky, but we got there and I'm thrilled with the results, which should be available to show you soon.
Ok so now I’ve got the video-making bug.
Yesterday I spent 5 minutes staring at some beads while having my first cup of tea in the morning. It was snowing outside. I then put together a diagram to see if a glimmer of an idea would work. I haven’t figured out how to get the shape into a bracelet yet, but quickly got a simple and quick pair of earrings done. Then another pair in a different colour, an then another single earring.
I got the camera out and positioned it, recorded the making of the second one, then put it all together, cutting the mistakes, adding music and narration, and this is the result. So just for you, here’s a little freebie…
Have fun with it, mess around with colour combinations, change the beads around, swap crystals for bicones or pearls.
I'm Teresa, the designer and writer of the tutorials you see, and a bead addict.
